{"id":5576,"date":"2011-05-11T19:09:32","date_gmt":"2011-05-12T00:09:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/christianrep.com\/blog\/?p=5576"},"modified":"2011-05-15T07:49:49","modified_gmt":"2011-05-15T12:49:49","slug":"permission-to-speak-freely","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/christianrep.com\/blog\/2011\/05\/11\/permission-to-speak-freely\/","title":{"rendered":"Permission to Speak Freely"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/christianrep.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Permission_Speak_Freely_large.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-5577\" title=\"Permission_Speak_Freely_large\" src=\"http:\/\/christianrep.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Permission_Speak_Freely_large.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"329\" height=\"394\" srcset=\"https:\/\/christianrep.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Permission_Speak_Freely_large.jpg 329w, https:\/\/christianrep.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Permission_Speak_Freely_large-250x300.jpg 250w, https:\/\/christianrep.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Permission_Speak_Freely_large-167x200.jpg 167w, https:\/\/christianrep.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Permission_Speak_Freely_large-66x80.jpg 66w, https:\/\/christianrep.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/Permission_Speak_Freely_large-300x359.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 329px) 100vw, 329px\" \/><\/a>The permission to speak freely by Anne Jackson<\/strong><\/em> is an awesome book that talks about how we let our fears stop us from speaking freely about anything.\u00a0 Freely speaking on our thoughts and fears about church, relationships, addictions, depression, family etc.\u00a0 Her single statement \u201cFear Won\u201d caught my heart.\u00a0 Fear wins out so often over so many things in so many of our lives.\u00a0 This book reminds us that we may never be completely free of fear, but that we can live a courageous life, speaking freely about the issues we have faced or are facing.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Many people struggle with depression and seasons of depression, wondering why they still fight it or are fearful of what others will think about them taking antidepressants etc.\u00a0 She sums it up nicely when talking about seasons of depression saying\u00a0 \u201cfeelings of insecurity and worthlessness is a chain I may never be able to break.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>She generously gives the gift of courage by stepping out and speaking out about her addictions, abuse and fear of talking freely about them.\u00a0 \u00a0She says \u201csomething in us begins to come alive in us when we see people overcome fear.\u201d We draw courage from others who, regardless of fear, stand up and speak up.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes our fears of living our dreams keep up from even taking the first step.\u00a0 Anne puts it this way \u201cTheir hearts are fighting for their dreams, yet fear claws away at their spirits, telling them their dreams are impossible.\u201d\u00a0 \u00a0Sometimes it doesn\u2019t take much more than a single twinge of fear to hold us back.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This book is very uplifting and encouraging.\u00a0 Whether you are fighting seasons of depression, feelings of worthlessness, or anything else that grips your heart in fear, Permission to Speak Freely is sure to encourage you and maybe you\u2019ll find the gift of going 2<sup>nd<\/sup> is something you can give to others by sharing your story.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>One of my favorite quotes by Anne:<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I had now seen the redemption and freedom that occurs when the darkness is forced into the light, disguised as awkwardly spoken words<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The audio book is read by Anne Jackson, the author. \u00a0I feel that we could actually feel more of what she was feeling as she recounts some of what was going through her mind and heart while she was retelling her story. \u00a0Very well done.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>I\u2019d like to thank\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/christianaudio.com\/?ref=MWIN704\">Christian Audio <\/a>for the complimentary copy of this book through their\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/careviewers\">Reviewers\u2019<\/a> program.\u00a0 Follow\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/christianaudio\">Christian Audio on Twitter <\/a>here.
