Why Christmas?<\/p>\n

Why would God accomplish his redemption plan in this way?<\/p>\n

Why come as a baby, as a human and live among us?\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Why did God choose this way to redeem mankind?<\/p>\n

Luke 3 describes the arrival of Jesus in this way, quoting Isaiah,
\n\u201cHe is a voice shouting in the wilderness,
\n\u2018Prepare the way for the Lord\u2019s coming!
\nClear the road for him!
\nThe valleys will be filled,
\nand the mountains and hills made level.
\nThe curves will be straightened,
\nand the rough places made smooth.
\nAnd then all people will see
\nthe salvation sent from God.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

“The salvation sent from God.” What an interesting way of describing this baby. We usually focus on a baby, gifts, wise men, angels and shepherds, but behind it all was a plan devised before creation to save mankind. A plan devised before the problem arose. Even knowing what would happen God created with a plan already in place to fix the problem of sin that would arise. It’s more than my little head can absorb. A plan to fix a problem that didn’t exist yet? Only God could do such a thing. Christmas is the revelation of God’s great redemption plan from eternity past to save mankind.<\/p>\n

Isaiah also wrote these words,<\/p>\n

For a child is born to us,
\na son is given to us.
\nThe government will rest on his shoulders.
\nAnd he will be called:
\nWonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
\nEverlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
\nHis government and its peace
\nwill never end.
\nHe will rule with fairness and justice
\nfrom the throne of his ancestor David
\nfor all eternity.
\nThe passionate commitment of the Lord\u00a0of Heaven\u2019s Armies<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

will make this happen!<\/p>\n

To us….even as the prophet describes the coming of this baby he’s clear to tell us the purpose, the recipients…it’s US! All this was done for us. Christmas is about God’s great plan from eternity past to provide life to the man he created. I’m so glad that this celebration we call Christmas is all about God’s great redemptive plan.<\/p>\n

This is the time of year when we see how much God loves us.<\/p>\n
